Omkara and Suicide

I'm at the wee end of an eventful day. Took part in Debate elims at Malhaar - written round- wrote about why suicude shd. be and shouldn't be a fundamental right. Had to devote one and a half page to either viewpoint.

As we walked away from Kanjur Marg station to catch an auto, the lure of Huma Adlabs and the need to experience for ourselves the truth in the glowing words with which friends had praised Omkara proved too much for us, and we watched the 7 45 show. Of course, just preceding that, I had to endure once more the pain of watching people around me feast on exotic food which I have to keep my hands off. Only differece being, I myself was eating this time, but you would imagine nibbling away at the lettuce and cucumber which were a part of the Fresh Salad could be but miniscule consolation.

Omkara, an adaptayion of Othello, is a very well made movie. The tight and absorbing storyline (courtesy Shaksepeare, of course) and the wonderful acting by every member of the star studded cast makes it a must watch affair. It drags a bit near the intermission though, and this is exacerbated by the two (needless)songs that appear around this time.
