Arsenal gunned down..SOB !!

1 point in 2 games for the charismatic gunners, while Man Utd. sit pretty at the top of the table...not quite the best of starts for the new homeground and the new jersey and the new faces at Arsenal.

As all the commentators pointed out, they were trying to pass the ball into the net ! Rosicky, draw inspiration from that fantastic long ranger u sent scorching into the US net in the world cup, and shoot ! Someone drill it into the Gunners' head that goals can be scored from outside the box !

However, one shouldn't read too much into this slow start..let the dust settle..let the din in the new stadium subside..let all the new faces adapt to their roles, and Arsenal will be at their silky scintillating best again !

Gambling on Procter and Gamble !!!

WARNING : Unabashed self praise follows !!!

Yo baby ! P&G ! That's where I'm heading off to for my Internship next year summer- Procter & Gamble !! After two rounds of interviews, the second of which can be well and truly described by the cliche' adjective for interviews- 'grilling', after spending a day sitting around anxiously in the placement office (the sofas were comfortable, I must concede), hearing my name among the final five selected- it was absolutely fabulous. And although the title gives an impression of the internship being a risky undertaking- my present 'top of the world self' will have a totally different perspective to offer !!!

The interviews went off real well- no interwoes...so to say. I just charged myself up when the time came, and in that pumped up state, it was smooth sailing. After the considerable time i've been spending nowadays pondering and contemplating about the future, this is a welcome relief. No worries on the PT front heeon..that's the greatest plus I take back from today.

Excited and Exuberant, that's how I feel now, and i hope, when describing myself, I don't have to add one more 'ex' before these words to for a long time to come !

Omkara and Suicide

I'm at the wee end of an eventful day. Took part in Debate elims at Malhaar - written round- wrote about why suicude shd. be and shouldn't be a fundamental right. Had to devote one and a half page to either viewpoint.

As we walked away from Kanjur Marg station to catch an auto, the lure of Huma Adlabs and the need to experience for ourselves the truth in the glowing words with which friends had praised Omkara proved too much for us, and we watched the 7 45 show. Of course, just preceding that, I had to endure once more the pain of watching people around me feast on exotic food which I have to keep my hands off. Only differece being, I myself was eating this time, but you would imagine nibbling away at the lettuce and cucumber which were a part of the Fresh Salad could be but miniscule consolation.

Omkara, an adaptayion of Othello, is a very well made movie. The tight and absorbing storyline (courtesy Shaksepeare, of course) and the wonderful acting by every member of the star studded cast makes it a must watch affair. It drags a bit near the intermission though, and this is exacerbated by the two (needless)songs that appear around this time.
