Somedays....listen to 'em
If you are an up and coming band, showing a lot of promise, and brimming with confidence in your skill and exuberant with hopes of a great future, and all that stops you from going out there and conquering the world, is your current confrontation with the vexing question of what the title of your first single ought to be, I have some useful advise for you. You know what, call it 'Someday'.
This is not just a mere whim of mine. In my experience, 'Someday' is the most successful title in the history of music. I refer to three marvelous songs by that name;
1. Someday, by Michael learns to Rock
2. Someday, by Nickelback (excellent video too; twist in the tail)
3. Someday, by Flipsyde
4. Someday, by Bon Jovi
This observation of mine does not just target those of you nursing hopes of a career in music. One should be buoyed by the surprising strike rate of the title 'Someday', and should capitalise on it. Whip up some enterprise, pick up that abandoned guitar/violin/piano/harmonium/harmonica and strum/hum/play/bray away, and who knows, you might be 'on top of the world, and looking down on creation !'
